Line D – Stop 7: Schöne Aussicht / Mosque

This is where the Islamic Center of Hamburg, known as the “Blue Mosque,” is located on the Outer Alster. For decades, the building has served as a religious center for the Shiite community, and its striking architecture right on the waterfront makes it a real eye-catcher.

The eastern shore of the Outer Alster, with the street “Schöne Aussicht,” truly lives up to its name. Just past the striking architectural landmark, the Imam Ali Mosque with its magnificent mosaic tiles, lies the second stop on the Top Tour Hamburg along the Outer Alster. From there to the third stop near the “Alsterperle” café, it’s about a 10-minute walk in the direction of travel, past the so-called “Feenteich” and not far from the magnificent Literaturhaus Hamburg (Literature House).
