The famous Hamburg waterfront stretch between HafenCity and the Landungsbrücken was named the ‘Jan-Fedder-Promenade’ in 2022 in honour of the Hamburg folk actor. It is also known as the Elbe Promenade and is one of the Hanseatic city’s most important flood defences. Standing 8.90 metres high, it reliably protects Hamburg from recurring floods. You also have a good view of the Elbphilharmonie from here.
